Jen did my hair and makeup for my wedding (along with the hair and makeup of my bridesmaids) in January, and she did an amazing, amazing job. We had a trial a few months prior to the wedding, and when on the wedding day I decided I wanted my hair slightly different, she did not flinch at all. She traveled to the venue, put everyone at ease and gave everyone the look they wanted. Weddings are stressful events, but she was efficient and relaxed and made sure everyone looked their best.

Jen recently did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I am SOOOOOOOO glad that I decided to spend the money for a professional look! Every picture I look at from my wedding day looks fantastic!

I had been worried that having makeup done professionally would look overdone or that a professional would do such heavy-handed makeup that I wouldn't look like myself. I chose Jen because the photos I saw of her work looked very natural. I also explained to her that I don't often wear a lot of makeup and she gave me a look that was just incredible. I LOVED what she did with my hair - I wish I could look that way every day!

She did my makeup at my house and on the way over to the wedding, my brother and I ran into a department store and asked the ladies at the makeup counter to match the lipstick color Jen had done so that I had a lipstick to use to retouch during the evening. I wear that lipstick all the time now it was a great color for me!

Shondi has been doing my hair for years, and I don't trust anyone else. She always listens to my ideas and gives me a great style that I love and can easily maintain. She also styles my hair afterward and it always looks perfect. I was referred to Shondi by my friend's g/f who drives in from San Angelo to see her. Shondi is AWESOME! She listens to what you want and does it. None of this bs from other salons where you tell them one thing and they do another. Also, Shondi is the first person I allowed to color my hair. It was my choice but I have dark hair and a tan skin tone so going too light is not an option. We started off very conservative with my highlights and now I have branched out and have lightened my hair up just enough so it looks cute and not tacky. -- Kathryn P.


 When I graduated from college and moved to Austin, I needed a haircut and happened to go to the salon where she worked. That was 5 years ago, and Shondi has been cutting my hair ever since. I have followed her as she moved salons a few times, and now she is at Grapevine working for herself!! Even when I moved away for 2 years to Washington, DC, I still waited until I came home to Austin so she could cut my hair.Shondi is an artist - you should see her paintings - so cutting and styling hair is really an art form to her. She listens very well to what I want and really tries to give me the kind of haircut I imagined. (In the past, other hairdressers acted like they understood what I wanted but instead just gave me the latest style or their interpretation of what described.) I have really thick, kind of frizzy hair, and Shondi has helped me figure out how to tame it, which products to use, and has shown me techniques to shorten my styling time at home. In the past I have always used a straightening iron to smooth out my curly/wavy hair, but Shondi has inspired me to go with my natural hairdo -- and she cuts it so it will look good both curly and straight. I brought a friend with me once to see Shondi who literally just wanted her hair cut straight across -- no layers, no nothing. I could tell Shondi was not used to such a simple request - and she thought my friend's hair *might* look better with some layers or more excitement. But, even against her better judgment, Shondi stayed true to what my friend asked for. I highly highly recommend Shondi Pugh!!! I have sent friends and family to her.  I met Shondi through mutual friends a few years back and always thought I'd like to try her because I see the results from our friends that go to her. It's hard to change stylists but as fate would have it, I was ready for a new stylist as she was moving to Grapevine. I went in for just a color touch up on my first visit and was blown away at how great the color looked and how long it lasted. I had been trying to grow my hair out and didn't realize just how frustrated and unhappy my hair was making me until I sat in her chair this week and we talked about what I want. I'm one of those that just never seems to know what will look good or what exactly I want.  I guess what I want is someone I can trust to make me look good. Someone that will be honest and tell me what they think will look good within my comfort levels. I found her. Shondi is superb. I went in feeling lousy and had little desire to even mess with makeup or styling my hair anymore. I had thought that in order to grow it out... I had to Suffer! She made my hair look fantastic without taking off much length. I went in feeling miserable and defeated and came out full of happiness and with a renewed sense of feeling good about me. Not to mention the compliments... so many compliments.I guess that's it. Shondi will make you feel good about yourself... and while she's doing it... she'll make you feel comfortable and it's so enjoyable. Her new digs at Grapevine are great. My friend's wife recommended Shondi to me over a year ago and I couldn't thank her enough! She is amazing in every way! She is so sweet and a joy to sit and talk to while she colors and cuts your hair. She listens to your ideas and offers some ideas of her own yet at the end of your appointment you have exactly what you wanted.  I came to her with no color in my hair and now I see her every 6 weeks for a trim and every 12 weeks for a trim and color.  Shondi is an amazing colorist! She listens to exactly what you would like and then creates a beautiful masterpiece that was once just hair. Shondi took my hair from a very light coppery blonde to a deep chocolate with some purple highlights. I love it!  My hair has faded beautifully. If there was a 6th star, she'd deserve that, too.Shondi has been excellent since the first time I saw her for a coloring, almost 2 years ago. She is masterful at blending what I want in a haircut/color with what I *need*. I wear my hair very simply, even for a man, but the subtle textures and shape she gives my hair are always complimented, even when it's been weeks. And when I do get adventurous, the colors she recommends always reflect her artistic talent.But more importantly, Shondi is a friend and makeshift-therapist... It took me years of living in Austin to find the right hairstylist, and Shondi is definitely it. She's fun and sweet and easy to talk to, but most importantly she really listens to what I want for my hairstyle and is very creative when it comes to new cuts and colors.
